New approaches to preparative chromatography

Innovative affinity ligands

Modelling and simulation of preparative chromatographic separations

Affinity precipitation

Intelligent bioconjugates

Production of recombinant proteins

Production of plasmid DNA at large scale

Characterisation of a municipal biogas plant

Biological fuel cell


Suitable candidates could have a background in

bioengineering / biotechnology


or biology (both molecular and ecological orientation)


Candidates from other areas will be considered on an individual basis.


Depending on background and project focus, PhD students are either part of the doctoral program of the Faculty of Engineering Science (Dr.-Ing.) or of the faculty of Biology, Chemistry, and Geosciences (Dr. rer. Nat.) of the University of Bayreuth.
